Turkey’s Solar Energy Potential

Turkey has a high solar energy potential, with an estimated technical potential of 87.5 million tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE). This means that Turkey has the potential to produce solar energy sufficient to meet approximately 10% of its current energy needs.

Building Integrated Solar Energy Systems

While technologies to increase the efficiency of solar panels continue to develop, a different application is used to increase the energy obtained per unit area. With the new generation of bifacial photovoltaic (PV) panels that also use light reflecting from the ground to the backside, it is possible to obtain higher energy per unit area.
